About

The paddle is only
as good as the hand

We do not think equipment makes a player. We think a player makes a player, and that the right equipment gets out of the way and lets them.

Agos means current

A current does not push. It carries. It only carries you if you are willing to move with it.

Everything we make is named for water. Surge. Flow. Tidal. The Pocket. That is not a colour story, it is how we think the game works. Progress on a court is not a straight line and it is not forced. It arrives when preparation and effort meet a moment you did not schedule.

The Pocket is not a spec

In surfing, the pocket is the part of the wave carrying the power. Sit ahead of it and you stall. Sit behind it and it passes you. Find it, and the wave does the work.

On a Surge, the rings printed on the face show where you are actually making contact. Most players are surprised by what they see. Not because they are bad, but because nobody had ever shown them.

That is the whole idea. The paddle does not fix your contact. It tells you the truth about it, and then it is on you. Repetition. Attention. Turning up when the session is inconvenient. The pocket on the face is the small version. The one worth chasing is the one where your preparation, your effort and your presence line up, and the game briefly feels simple.

You do not buy that. You earn it, and then you lose it, and then you go and find it again.

How The Pocket is engineered

Why scripture is on every paddle

Two verses, printed where you will see them every time you pick the paddle up. They are not branding. They are the terms we are trying to play on.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 · Surge

Give thanks in all circumstances. Including the circumstances where you lost, badly, to someone you thought you had.

1 Corinthians 10:31 · Flow

Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Which turns effort itself into the point, rather than the scoreline.

Nobody has to share our faith to play with our paddles, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. But you asked what we are built on, and this is the honest answer.

Who is behind this

The paddles are manufactured to our specification by a partner factory. We design them, we set the brief, and we are the ones you deal with if one of them fails. Where a claim on this site is ours we say so, and where it is the factory’s standard we say that too.

Come and play

Everything above is easier to understand on a court than on a website. Open plays are coming, and when the dates are set they go out to the list before anywhere else.

Paddles up

Nobody in that photograph is thinking about equipment. That is the whole point of getting it right: the paddle disappears, and what is left is the game and the people in it.
